I heart faces has a couple of categories.  One of which is Pets.  Well, since I recently grabbed a goofy photo of Maggie, I thought I’d use it here.

This one says…”Hi, I’m a dorkfish!”  My poor sweet Maggie has lots of goofy faces!

Last weekend, my little buddy Riley got a bath.  Generally, he doesn’t like to get bathed, but loves how he feels afterwards!  This was really just a prelude to a haircut.  Last night we cut his hair too (pictures forthcoming)  He is now much cooler and happier.

This sandwich is a slight variation of a classic Caprese.  I added some grilled chicken to the sandwich.

IMG_7772 Here are the classic ingredients: tomato, basil and mozzarella cheese.  Simple, yet deliver it delivers in taste in a big way!  Oh and the basil pictured here is straight out of the garden, fresh herbs are the way to go!

I made the 1 1/2 hour commute out to Llano, Tx to see the Eagle nest that has been there for about 6 or 7 years.  It is truly amazing to see these majestic birds in the wild.

This was shot with an old 600-1000mm manual focus lens.  I shot some other photos using a Canon EF 300mm F4 L lens stacked on top of a Canon EF 1.4x II Extender.  Those are located on my Flickr photostream.

So in my previous post I alluded to my ulterior motive for being in Washington DC.  Well, that motive was to ask my girlfriend to marry me!  The first day we arrived in Washington DC, we went walking around the White House past the Washington Monument down to the Reflecting Pool where we sat at a bench to rest.  While sitting there engaged in conversation and well…reflecting, I got down on one knee and asked Honey to marry me.  Thankfully she said YES! (I knew she would)

I was fortunate enough to go to Washington D.C. at the first of this month.  Wow.  What an amazing experience!!  The history that is in this town is breathtaking.   My main reason for going was for a conference with Farmers Insurance.  I did however have an ulterior motive that I will save for another post.  Over the next couple of days I will try and post some other photos from my trip.  The above photo is obviously from the United States Capitol
